So I'm currently doing some research for my digital manipulation project for university. I really had zero inspiration for this project (which is strange as it is so very open) so i decided to look at some images by Erik Johansson. His images were very dreamlike and because i have very vivid dreams i decided to keep a dream diary for the project to give me some ideas? All was going well until my housemates made me watch the vampire flick Twilight on Wednesday night. So from Wednesday onwards all my dreams related back to Vampires, and that is why i am now researching into them..
It is both quite interesting (looking at what different cultures believed about them) and scary (looking into people who ACTUALLY believe they are vampires.. one guy, of which, refers to everyone else he talks to on this forum as 'mere mortals').
Anyway, what i have been meaning to say is that i find the Twilight movie posters very interesting. I love that the lighting makes actually zero sense. If you look at the image above, it is suggested that the lighting comes out of the guys coat to hit the girl and through her head to light his face. There is something i find really beautiful about this lighting though and looking at it without a harsh, technical eye it is aesthetically pleasing. I would like to try this style of mismatched lighting in my digital manipulation project and see how it turns out..
