Backseat

This week has been pretty slow photography-wise, it has had to take a backseat to work, my PPRD file and organisation of my work experience.

I was shocked to find out that apparently the TV Show House are planning to shoot a whole episode on the Canon 5D?

Music Photography

I have been helping out my friend with a promo image for his music this week. This style of photography is not my favourite so i made it into more of a portrait and pulled it into my comfort zone as far as i could. (Which i know is not what i should be doing but it's important to me that i created an image that i knew would work, I didn't want to take a risk with my friends image.)

Julia Kennedy

http://www.juliakennedy.com/

Julia Kennedy's fashion portraits are so visually beautiful and are on a level that i can only hope to one day hit. I love her colours, textures and the way that she speaks about her images in her blog (http://juliakennedyphotography.blogspot.com/)

I have missed my chance to take part in work experience with her for part of this unit but i will contact her with regards to future work experience for my own time.

Internet Troubles..

I curse AOL for their awful internet service, this is my first online blog in a while! I will scan in my others so that you can see what i have been getting up to.

I'm off to a victorian event in London this weekend so i am hoping to get some relatively good shots from there and will post them up as soon as i have them developed.

This week i have been attending crits for my CAP and Digital Darkroom university projects. I have not been too pleased in the way that my images have turned out and I have decided never to use gumtree.com for models again.

Anyway back to my photo highlight of this week and it has to be looking into the work of Paola Kudacki (www.Paola Kudacki.com). I love the colour and the texture in her images. She also produces short films, which is something that i believe every photographer will have to dabble in, in the future, at some point to stay current and to make money.

Chloe Aftel

www.chloeaftel.com

I came across Chloe Aftel's work by recommendation from a friend. I love the muted tones and snapshot style vibe that her images give. Her fashion images are fresh and i feel that her style of photography is right on trend. I would like to try and have a go at the more snapshot like approach to photography. It would be interesting to spend an afternoon with some models and take some semi-staged casual snap shots instead of the images that I am currently used to taking.

Hello GaGa

I came across this image by Markus Klinko of Lady GaGa celebrating Hello Kitty's 35th Anniversary. I love this images texture and colours. I feel that it is such a clever portrait as it both shows off the artists personality and is also visually exciting.

Jillian Lochner

When researching for my essay I came across this very interesting photographer, Jillian Lochner'. I believe she is the future of shock advertising. She pushes advertising to the limits of controversy and I believe that 'Shockvertising' is only going to get worse as companies struggle for consumer attention. Not all of her work is this controversial but all of her images have a certain conformity in the texture of the colour that I can't help but love.
